Send Ben a NoteAbout Me
I am an ER nurse. I had an attempted Ross procedure on 9/16/2025 along with a PFO closure, and hemi-arch to repair an aortic aneurysm. A suture line attaching my right coronary artery blew out causing significant bleeding.
In the process of trying to stem the bleeding and better attach my former pulmonary valve (now aortic replacement) the surgeon ran a suture through one of the leaflets rendering it useless. They tried to repair it but to no avail.
They cut it out, replaced it with an ON-X mechanical valve, sewed me up. They saved my life, but I'll be blood thinners for life.
