On a scheduled routine Dr app't, Dr Rabia Khan found concern for possible AFIB. Ultra Sound showed large leak from mitral valve. I couldn't believe it; Drs were correct, of course. Surgery was scheduled. I wa 85 yrs old and terrified. However, my recovery was very fast. My doctor said "Slow down; you had major, major surgery" !
Surgery was over a year ago and I am doing very, very well. I feel that this was the 2nd time my primary care giver saved my life. First time, huge blood clot in entire leg; 2nd time,,,heart problem followed by mitral valve replacement !!
