About Me (In My Own Words)
An opera singer of over 30 years, I have a condition known as Lymphodoema Distichiasis, a generic mutation of the FoxC2 gene. My 15 year old son also has this condition, and it is currently well managed presenting no major problems. However it was suggested that we should both have heart scans as 7% of sufferers also experience congenital heart defects. Lo and behold a diagnosis of BAV disease. No problems in my son at the moment, but I do have a leaking valve, so surgery within five years! A bit shell shocked, but a singing colleage of mine also suffers with BAV disease and has directed me to your most informative sight.
