I'm 42 years old. Had Mitral valve repair in 2006, fast forward 2024, now in need of a valve replacement. Did not want a mechanical valve, my surgeons decided the new mitres resilia biological valve is the best option. Absolutely dreading the procedure, previously had minimally invasive surgery, now I'll be having fully open heart surgery.
