About Me (In My Own Words)
Hi Adam! You and I last communicated during the summer when I was contemplating switching my mechanical aortic valve to get off of Coumadin and going to a bovine valve and you were kind enough to refer me to Dr. Tom Nguyen. Although Tom did not do the surgery Dr. Brad Taylor is the new chief of cardiac surgery at Baptist North which used to be Boca regional Hospital. I had the replacement surgery. They also then had to replace my aortic root because of the tissue that had built up from when this was done 12 years ago. I also almost flatlined and so they had to put in a pacemaker and so there was the second surgery and then they also had to put in a watchman, and I ended up developing fluid in my lungs so I was back in the hospital again. That all said a side effect post surgery is I have neuropathy in my left foot. Feels almost like pins and needles. Everywhere I read it says that this could happen and last six months or longer. Do you have the same understanding?
