I remember being told that I had a heart murmur when I was about 11 yrs.old.Really never gave it a thought for another 40 yrs. At a routine physical,my doctor said that I should see a cardioligist for an evaluation.He ordered all the standard tests and they showed that I had aortic stenosis.Yearly echos showed small movement until about 18 months ago.I was now at the severe stage,but I was asymptomatic.In October of 2011,I came down with a case of pneumonia and a-fib on top of that. After 4 days in ICU ,cardioversion and a 4 month stint on coumadin,I resumed my "nornal" life...till now.I'm 62 now and my symptoms are much worse. I am scheduled for valve replacement surgery and a maze procedure or ablation to fix the a-fib at Brigham and Womens Hospital in Boston for 1/17/13. Dr.Michael Davidson will hopefully work his magic one more time. The countdown begins.....
