About Me (In My Own Words)
I'm 52 years old and have been diagnosed with BP (been having for at least 10 years now) recently diagnosed with Non-fatty Liver disease, Menopause was the cherry on top. Due to hormonal issues and symptoms which include fatigue, weight gain, and feeling so unlike myself I really thought this was just part of the process. By mid-summer 2023 I started feeling extremely fatigued, with shortness of breath, unable to sleep, tingly, numbness all over my body and I really just thought it was all due to the hormonal imbalances going on in my body. All this new health issues came about when I had my yearly Wellness check and due to my blood pressure reading 190/110 at my Gynecologist appt, she suggested I see a Cardiologist quick. And that's where all this came about. I am really glad that there are actual Doctors that care abut their patients well being and my gyno sent a referral to a Cardiologist and here I am...just recently had a Catheterization to check for blocked arteries (which I have none) thank God, still my Cardiologist was determine to get to the bottom of my symptoms and give a precise diagnosis. CT Scan was done at hospital and it turns out, I have Bicuspid Aortic valve since birth, and I did not know it until now. To make matters worse instead of 2 valves I actually have 1 and a narrow one .09 that needs to be replaced ASAP! I'm still trying to absorb all this new findings and everything is going by pretty fast. I've got an appointment with a Cardiac Surgeon this coming Thursday. I'm overwhelmed and still trying to come to terms with all that is going on at this time in my life.
