Robert Miller What are those 4 wounds below the vertical chest cut? I only had one "wide" (3/4" or so) wide cut in that area. Maybe they put multiple drainage tubes for different areas? I had some other tubes, infusions, etc in other areas incl. arm, neck, up my member, etc but not in that area. That tube below the vertical cut was feeling strange when they pulled it out. They prepared me well on what I will feel (no pain) so it wasn't bad. It was just a strange feeling. The one they pulled out from the neck was also interesting. They inserted that one much further down than I expected.

Robert Miller @Marie Myers, that "big pipe" I had was also for drainage from what I recall. But it was just one. I heard some people have multiple placed to different positions. And I also had the pacer wires. They kept zapping me until they adjusted it a bit better. I thought they were higher up but I could be wrong. Glad to hear about the happy face you have imprinted... Mine is just two straight faces (two surgeries, two straight "mouths"...)

DOUGLAS ARNBERG Yeah, I had 4 pipes draining and they all merged into a single larger tube that drained into a storage collection device so they could easily see and monitor how much is draining.
