Anna Jones posted a note for Steve that says:
I didn't know if you would receive this or not. Dr. Lawrie will be operating on me in June and I wanted to ask you a few questions if you wouldn't mind. If it would be alright, can you let me know how to contact you? Thank you.
Hey, Steve, We've been keeping up with you through your journal. Uncle Norm and I are ecstatic that you came through with flying colors. But I knew you would, because God takes care of His own!
Take it easy, and hope to see you soon.
Mary and I were thrilled to read that you are heading home today Steve! It sounds like you are bouncing back pretty well from the surgery trauma, but the best medicine is getting home to your bed, your family and your friends. Can't wait to hear the "war" stories once you are up to visiting. See you soon- Dick & Mary
Tommy and I have thought about you and Jody so much as you went through this surgery and journey. We have been watching your progress through your journal. Tommy saw Frankie and he also gave him an update. We are so glad to hear how well you are doing and that you will get to go home soon. Hope to see you and Jody back home real soon.
Tommy and Peggy
Wow, to think that you have had this major surgery, and may be out of the hospital in the next day or two: awesome!
You have checked with the doctor as to flying after this surgery? I'm sure it would be fine, but please double check!
So happy that all is going well!
Way to go Steve! Glad you're up and about walking the halls and such. Jody don't feel too bad when John had his knee replaced in June we were in San Antonio, I turned my ringer off at night and he tried to call me! I guess we're in the "bad wives" club together"! But hey they can't complain too much right, at least we're getting our beauty sleep so we look good at the hospital for them!
Pam forwarded this journal to us. We want you and Jody to know that you are in our prayers: a prayer for your quick recovery, and a prayer for Jody's ability to be the patient, sweet, caregiver!
Hope to see both of you someday soon.
Love, Greg and Jane Swanson
Hi Steve, Just wanted you to know that Lewis and I thought about you all day. So glad everything went so well. Hope you're not too sore and recover very quickly! We need you in Sonora on Dec. 20!! Take care.
Almost back to your normal self, huh? Well, we'll see how that goes!!!
Really, really glad to hear that all is going as expected, and maybe even better?
We'll be looking for you to stop on your way home, in a few days, and refill with Julie's Mexican food!
This Journal may be right up there with sliced bread?!
Take care, and we will see you soon.
Love, Bruce and Pam
Just a quick political update, for you: RP doesn't even know what the legal voting age is!!!!! Can you really see this guy as our President? I hope this doesn't cause your blood pressure to sky rocket!!
That's great news Jody. I know you will feel better once he gets out of ICU, but getting that kind of report from Dr. Lawrie is just what we wanted to hear. Get some rest girl, and give Mr. Steve a hug for us when you finally get to visit with him! Dick & Mary R.
Sending good thoughts and prayers your way. I've read your journals and it looks like you are in very capable hands. I'm meeting with heart surgeon December 5th. and will have valve repair soon. God Bless and speedy recovery to you. I look forward to your updates. J. Kielbasa
It sounds like you are in good hands with this Dr. McCarthy. We will have you in our prayers. Assuming that the procedure goes smoothly, sounds like the recovery process may be the toughest part of this challenge. I have asked Doug Eakman to have plenty of tranquilizers in stock, both for you and for Jody! Dick & Mary R.
Hey Steve, Good Morning! It's Great to know you are in Good Hands and how you found your surgeon. May GOD Continue to Bless and Keep You and Your Family through this porcess in "JESUS NAME", Amen! You are in our Prayers. Tom T.

Pam and I know that God's hands will be on Dr. Lawrie's hands as he whittles on your heart. My theory is that your putting issues have been a direct result of that floppy valve...so, only great things are ahead! We'll talk when you wake up.
Steve...I know exactly how you feel...I was there just a couple months ago. This time is the worst. The surgery will go fine and you won't feel a thing. You will wake up in ICU and will be very happy...you made it! The pain is manageable and it gets much better very quickly. Just make sure to do all the walking and breathing exercises...it helps a lot. Next thing you know, you will be home feeling pretty good.
Good luck and we are praying for you. Take care...you will do just fine.
