Hi, Sandi. You are in the right place, and doing a great service to your Dad by researching valve repair/replacement. I had my aortic valve replaced on July 14th. I'm 68 years old, and am doing great, have to hold myself back from overdoing it at times. I wish the very best for your family. Let me know if I can help with any insights. Eleanor

Sandi,
You have landed in a very good place. This site should be able to answer the vast majority of your questions. The learning center is a good place to start. Those of us in the "Community" are more than willing to help answer questions for which you cannot find an answer. Just post your question and someone who has dealt with just what you are wondering about will probably hop on board. The other thing you can do is enter the key words into the search for white bar at the top. It does a great job of picking up information that might be missed because, thankfully, this site continues to grow, including with new information added. Welcome and be sure to speak up if you need help or direction.
Most of us are patients who are either pre- or post-op for heart valve replacement. I myself had my bicuspid aortic valve replaced just over 5 weeks ago and am glad to be working on recovery.
My best to you and prayer for your Dad that all will go well.
