Good Morning Roseline. Glad to read that you have come through surgery. My surgery was done eight days ago by Dr. Accola. Florida Hospital Orlando was beautiful and the staff took really good care of me. We were home (after the long drive) on Saturday. Now to recovery. Good luck to you and a speedy recovery.

Hi Roseline, Praying for you. You asked about tips. V necked shirts. Quickly found I don't want anything to touch incision. I wished I had brought hard candy or lozenges for scratchy coughing. Walk all you can when you get the chance. I wished I'd had anything that could have improved the food, even a pepper shaker. Best to you!

Nancy Lewis Roseline, Catie has great suggestions. My favorite is the hard candy or lozenges. I wish someone had told me that my mouth would be so dry, I couldn't form words without sipping water. The V necked shirts are a good idea too Or rounded but low cut. I pulled out my button cardigans and shirts to get to them when I got home. As long as I'm homebound with few visitors, I leave a few buttons undone to keep the scar cool. Your appetite will eventually return, but 17 days post op and I still don't care if I eat or not. (Other than to gain strength) Best wishes Nancy

Roseline, that is one tough decision to have to make. I think I would go ahead and have my surgery on the date scheduled (Sept. 26th???). The surgeon is not very involved after the surgery. They will have a team of caregivers to take care of you. I am sure he will have another surgeon on call if you need that kind of care. Good luck to you!
