Sophia Ridley  Hi Meagan, I had severe regurgitation from the posterior of a calcified mitral valve and mine was repaired and I have addition goretex strings for "extra scaffolding". They fixed a hole too that we didn't know about and 'atriclip' me!
I'm please to report there's no leak 3 months on and long may that continue. I'm glad that I didn't leave it too long after I found out as my atrium had enlarged, and by surgery time it had enlarged further and the left ventricular was growing. I was still able to walk about and hold a conversation but things were getting tougher. I'm so glad that I've had it done, I notice improvements each day. It's tough, will test you and your carers, but it's doable. This site is awesome for information and support, I couldn't have done it without these wonderful people!
