Great news on all fronts, Kim. Before we start down this path, we (I) couldn\'t imagine what modern medicine can do. God has given all our medical providers such skill. I\'m only 3 weeks post op and know what you mean about the seat belt across the chest. I put my heart pillow between, haven\'t had any strange looks from anyone driving along side. Guess it would have to be a trucker up high, looking down, but who cares. Hope rehab goes well, keep us posted.

Glad to hear you came through your surgery so well and that your recovery is progressing nicely.
I had a mitral valve replacement in Jan. of this year (mechanical St. Jude valve), and Yes--I definitely hear it clicking sometimes. The doctors say it\'s perfectly normal. The only time I hear the valve ticking is in a lying down position with my head at certain angles.
My 15 yr. old granddaughter says she can sometimes hear me clicking from several feet away, but her hearing is better than most!
The clicking doesn\'t ever bother me,if anything it\'s reassuring to know that everything is working like it\'s supposed to.

That was certainly a good report on your progress. I had a repair but definitely had some periods of my heart pounding to beat the band and I did mention it to the doctor but was told it was just a transitional stage and not to worry. It took a few months but now I can\'t say I feel that anymore. I remember others reporting much the same thing whether or not they had a repair or a replacement. I know you would like to hear from a replacement but I wanted to say hi and weigh in just in case it helped a little.

In fact if all goes well and you stick to it you will probably be better than you were before the surgery. Just one bit of advice. Don\'t overdo the exercise yet. Your body still needs to heal.
