Welcome .
Needing open heart surgery as an emergency can be a big life change and a shock .
I had my surgery during covid times as an emergency in Yorkshire .
A patient I am now friends with had valve surgery due to endocarditis . Since surgery she has led a full life , has got married and is expecting her first baby . We were both in hospital for four weeks prior to surgery due to both getting late diagnosis and because of staff illness due to covid .
This lovely community is here to listen .
