Hi Carolyn, There are a couple of us here in Tucson. I had my mitral valve repaired last October after years of monitoring. I've only been in Tucson for a couple of years, but my sister is a cardiac cath nurse at Banner UMC. At the September 2018 meeting of the 30th Transcatheter Cardiovascular Therapeutics (TCT) annual scientific symposium of the Cardiovascular Research Foundation in San Diego, a landmark study, Cardiovascular Outcomes Assessment of the MitraClip Percutaneous Therapy, confirmed the safety and effectiveness of the MitraClip System for the treatment of moderate-to-severe or severe functional mitral regurgitation.

My cardiologist, Timothy Marshall MD and I have been following the developments in the use of the MitraClip for severe mitral valve regurgitation which I have. Fortunately I still have no symptoms such as shortness of breath. For complicated reasons having nothing to do with Dr. Marshall as my preferred cardiologist, I have had to change cardiologists and am now being seen by Peter Spooner, MD at Pima Heart.

Currently I am in Bend OR for the summer, returning to Tucson October 4. I would be delighted to meet with you both for coffee when I return. Thank you for reaching out to me. Again I apologize for the excessive delay in responding. Carolyn
