Bruce Busa I went around 15 years +-. Since first getting an echocardiogram and offered surgery. However I am not sure when the status actually broke over the "severe" stage. I do have records from 2013 that says "severe" however. I did have an increase recently though. I have been treating the arrhythmia with Heart herbs and REST and exercise. However this winter was not very restful for my work and the weather was not cooperating with my exercise. Counting my age (57), work status, insurances, and learning how to read Echo reports, it is apparent that now is the time. Especially since now they do re-construction using your own valve parts. Staying off pharmaceuticals is major for me.
