Rooting for you from Clearwater! Do what they tell you, and try to keep a positive attitude. My AVA was close to yours at .7. I feel terrific now, better than I have in a decade. Keep walking, breathing, and resting :)

Welcome to our heart community. You will find so much helpful information here on this site. Everyone is helpful, caring, supportive, and have lots of information to share with pre-op and postop friends in the community. As far as a less invasive procedure goes. That is the type I had. My mitral valve was replaced. The incision was made under the right breast. Its less invasive, although it was still invasive to me. I am seven weeks post op and started back to work part time at five weeks post op.
It is amazing what these gifted surgeons can do to help us lead longer lives with a healthier heart. Be sure to ask questions from the heart community. I also would recommend Adam's book Patients guide to heart valve surgery. This book helped me to know what to expect during surgery and after. You can order online. Again a big welcome.
