Good morning to all. Lots of great postings to catch up on. Soon I will be scheduling my aortic valve replacement using a bioprosthetic (bovine tissue) type valve and a Thoracotomy surgical procedure. Hi Tim, glad you found this site! There is lots of good information available online, but also in the resources Adam has posted here, comparing the different valve options. When it comes to aortic valve replacement there are really 3 options, that depend on age, general heart health, lifestyle, etc…..bio... Read more.

Hello, new here. I will be having an Aortic Valve Replacement in the near future, not scheduled yet. I have been researching the Robotic Aortic Valve Replacement procedure and I have not seen anything posted from someone who has done this. Anyone out there have any information on this procedure?... When I asked at Cleveland Clinic almost a year ago, I was told that Robotic for Aortic repair/replacement is not being used yet.

TAVR does not involve opening the chest

there was a seminar but it focused on the mitral valve. I looked in to aortic valve as an alternative but really did not find much. not sure if you can have MI-ARV. I qualified and it is better then cracking open your chest.

There is a webinar Adam did with two doctors on robotic procedure very recently, like a few weeks ago. Just by watching that I know I'm not qualified for it. Not everyone qualify for that.
