I began with night sweats sometime in late February which I initially thought were related to menopausal symptoms. I ignored the symptoms for about a month but then began having difficulty breathing. I made an appointment with my physician and was immediately transported to the hospital by ambulance. I had blood cultures done in the hospital which came back positive. The bacteria attacked my aortic valve and am now left with a 7mm hole in one of the valve cusps. Surgery scheduled for July 12, 2011.
