Hi, I'm new here. I was diagnosed last summer with moderate aortic stenosis, bordering on severe. Tomorrow the cardiologist is running more tests on me to see if it's time for surgery yet. I bought and read Adam's book, and I'm so grateful that a community like this exists, and thankful to all of you for sharing your stories. It helps lower my anxiety level. A little.

Phyllis Petersen Welcome! I don't think I could have made it through my mitral valve repair as easily without the support and information from this site. I found Adam Pick's original page shortly after moving up to moderate regurg and found his book extremely helpful. The blogs by people going through surgery gave me a sense of control over the future. Some of the things people go through are scary at first, but the more prepared you are for all possibilities, the more confident you can be going forward. Good luck on your journey!

Randy Owen Thank you! After today's echo, the cardiologist says I'm firmly in the severe category, and he wants to get this done now. Tomorrow he's doing a cardiac catheterization on me, then we're going to schedule the surgery. Here goes!
