My aortic valve was closing--I was swimming 4 days a week and slowly built up to 40 minutes in spite of the closing valve, and then one day after swimming extra hard for the 40 minutes, I started having irregular heart beat--it would be 60 and jumped to 120 --- double! And so I was tested for blockages and in 2 hours on November 17th I received my Christmas present: a brand new aortic valve which made me udderly happy. I was up on my feet walking the second day and feeling very lucky.
