Hello everyone. I just turned 60, and am having problems with increasing sob. I swim in a masters swim program, but am having a really hard time with it. I believe I am suffering from Pulmonary hypertension, as well as moderate diastolic dysfunction (which has been diagnosed), and moderate pulmonary regurgitation. My pulmonary artery pressure was 32mmHg in 2003, and is now about 25mmHg, according to my most recent angio. Don't understand how it got better, but maybe its technology? My doctors swear I'm ok, and shouldn't be feeling this way?? I'm worried that I am damaging my heart by exercise, especially considering how I feel afterward. I am not taking any meds. any thoughts?
I would recommend maybe getting a second opinion. Did they do a stress test or 2D Echo on you?

Tammy Pilcher Lorraine, I agree with Pamla that maybe you should get a second opinion. You know your body and what feels normal. If somethings not feeling right, then there's probably a reason. Prayers and best wishes for you!

lorraine arrington they did a bike test, but the results were flawed because they couldnt get the computer to work right... I had a TEE with a bubble study in 2003, which gave some pretty scary results like a significant 3+jet on my pulm. valve (actually, superior to the leaflet), however the recent TEE didn't show much, and according to this doctor, was normal, with the exception of the pulmonary valve which was dilated. I guess I'm hung up on the fact that the 2003 test was so detailed - pages of information on every part of my heart, vs. the 1/2 page from the recent test, that makes me suspicious that this doc doesn't really give a crap. Problem is I have Kaiser, and no matter what these doctors stick together. They make me feel like a total whiner.

It's your body.....and your symptoms. You know yourself better than anyone else. If you are very concerned...why not get a copy of recent testing and the 2003 TEE and get a second opinion?
It will either ease your mind or get something done.
lorraine arrington thanks... they have a way of making you feel like you're making up the symptoms.
