Just wanna let y'all know I came home last night! The night was long and uncomfortable: site of incision hurt and I had to get up to pee a lot (the lasix). Getting in and out of the recliner is less than easy so I plan on trying to sleep in the bed tonight. Kathy has been wonderful: shopping and generally taking good care of me. Home health care visited today. I took a couple of walks. Been eating well. I'm gonna try to upload a few photos soon I think. I love you!!! Larry/Bruce/LarBar/Will/Crusher/Daddy

Hi Family and Friends, This is Coral, Larry's daughter. I have finally figured out how to log-in to Dad's account so hopefully more of you will get this message. If this is the first message you've read from me, you can look back in the guest comments and see my noes about his progress for the last few days. I spent all afternoon and early evening with Dad yesterday. He is progressing along well. He's pooped-another great step in the recovery process. We also went for 2 walks with him while we were there and he's started getting himself up and walking to the bathroom to use the toilet. Before yesterday, he was peeing in a bottle. His Dr. came in yesterday early afternoon and started talking about coming home, said it could be as early as today or tomorrow. So if you plan on visiting late this week, as I know a few people have said they might, you should call first. I fly back to Portland this afternoon, so at best you will get one more update from me, but at best, you will start getting updates from Larry himself shortly. I'm feeling a little nervous. I've been reading Adam's book, Heart Valve Surgery. I did very little research re. cardiac surgeons; based my choice on a single recommendation: the cardiologist I met at the hospital when I lost consciousness at work a couple weeks ago. My surgeon, Dr. Moon, refused his consent for me to donate my own blood for the surgery (says it puts too much strain on the heart). Most of you know I'm a regular blood donor and it has never bothered me before - oh well. Now, it is apparently too late for anyone to donate blood for me. Thanks anyway Kathy & Coral.
