Shawna D. Hi Keith. I also am asymptomatic and will be going for my open-heart surgery on the 27th of this month. I'm new at all of this but I can tell you what I'm doing to prepare. I'm still doing light workouts and walking. Also I am doing light weights, all of which are approved by my docs. I want to make sure I'm in the best condition for recovery. Also, I ordered a recliner to help me stand up after surgery (about $300 on Amazon). I've heard it would be good for sleeping after I get home. I have a friend who is setting up a caring bridge (giving updates during surgery in one location so others can see that and not bother your loved ones so often). I have another friend setting up a meal train. It's a website for meals to be dropped off so I don't have to cook.
