Hello I am a healthy 54 year old woman who walked and exercised prior to my illness of severe mitral prolapse with severe regurgitation. I had several symptons. Shortness breath, chest pain, heart skips with pounding and coughing that wouldnt stop. Couldnt lye flat while sleeping. I had my 1st mitral reapair done on May 6th, 2011 every thing went accordingly. I never really felt any better after surgery or may be a few days but really it was only 4 weeks post op that I started getting the same symptons that I had prior to surgery. I ended back in the hospital a week ago and 7 weeks post op. They did some testing and discovered that My valve repair did not hold up. I now have to have a 2nd heart surgery on July 18th and I am feeling lots of anxiety. Having one heart surgery is bad enough and to have two within 9 weeks. Im nervous and scared. If any one can give me some information or help with my anxiety would be very much appreciated. Thanks Kathy
