Sheila Harrison It was for me, thank goodness we could laugh at some of the things I did and said. But it is very unnerving. I am 5 months out and it's so much better. Very rare now only when I am beyond exhausted.

Nancy D Here it was referred to as Cardiac brain- and between the stress prior, the trauma of surgery, anesthesia and bypass(or pump) I would say it is a real thing. Thankfully it get better fairly soon, once off all the pain meds, and I only get "brain shutdown" rarely and it is when I am like Sheila said above "beyond exhausted!"

I had issues with planning and organization the first three weeks. I think Nancy's point of it being related to numerous variables is right. I kept sending in the wrong forms to my son's school, sent him over to a friend's house without eating lunch, and sent my kid to school in pajamas on a day that wasn't pajama day. These are all things that would never happen, especially when that was all I had to do! Now, I am 8 weeks out, back and work, and at baseline.
