I went to see a cardiologist last month after some chest pains. He ran a bunch of tests and decided I had stenosis of the mitral and aortic valves. I also have a small blockage in my carotid artery. He elected a "wait and see" strategy. Having read "A Patient's Guide to Heart Valve Surgery." i went to see another cardiologist. He came up with the same conclusion. It is not so bad. Come back in 6 months.
