10 weeks today since my mitral valve repair. Fitter than i've been in 5 years, remarkable - like an upgrade, but... i've still got numbness and sometimes burning pain in my outer thighs above my knees and wondered if anyone else had experienced nerve damage in the same place.

Susan Lynn Did you have a cardiac catheterization performed or cannulation through your femoral artery? There are nerves in your leg that may have been traumatized during either one of those procedures. It may be worth a quick call to your surgeon or cardiologist. Please keep us posted. Ian Jordan Thanks for this, I have no idea, will follow up. It is both legs though covering exactly the same area from my knee right up the outside of my thigh in an oval 10" x 4" in size, so not limited to one leg which is what you might expect.
