I’ll be having aortic valve surgery on 2/2/21. I have been very physically active in the last several years. After having chest pains and shortness of breathe , I was hospitalized last Friday. After the failing valve was confirmed by a heart cath, a balloon angioplasty was performed on Saturday. This pretty much released the symptoms as long as I don’t push myself too hard. I was even able to play golf (riding in a golf cart, of course) on Thursday. Saw my cardiologist on Friday. He indicated that they will do a TAVR unless something unexpected pops up on my CT scan next week.
My question relates to returning to my normal activity level. What should I expect after surgery? How long was your recovery period? We’re you able to resume your pre-valve-replacement?
Thanks, George
