Only a few bumps in the road of recovery!! I am down to 1 pain pill a day right before bed. Tylenol is ok during the day. I am struggling a little with my incision. It opened up about 2 inches towards the bottom. I am going to Kearney once a week to the wound clinic to have it looked at! They say it is looking good and healing well. It looks awful to me!! But I spose with the $10.00/per bandaid repair it will be fine. I have to change the expensive little bugger 3 times a week and have 3 bandages per change!! EEEEEEECK! Anyway, God is good and faithful and I grateful to all for all your thoughts and prayers!! I am going to Scottsbluff on Friday for the weekend and then back to Gothenburg on Monday to continue Cardiac ReHab! I am up to walking 6 minutes on the treadmill at 1.8mph at a 5% grade!! Love you all!!
Diana is doing good today. She got a little bit of sleep last night so that's good. They have been trying for the last hour to find a vein to draw some blood... 7 people have tried so far and more on the way.... bummer for mom. She may get to go home tomorrow but we'll see what doc says in the morning.
Diana got all her tubes taken out this morning... chest, cath, and iv's. All she has hanging on her now is oxygen and the BP cuff. She has taken two walks already this morning and is resting now. I think today is the first day she has really felt the after effects of getting split open, she is in some pain today. Please continue to pray for good pain control and speedy recovery. Dr. Said she will probably go home Sunday or Monday.
Diana was doing well when we left tonight at 830. She was going to take her third walk for the day before the evening is over. Please pray for good pain control and some rest for her tonight. Also, we are having problems with receiving flowers because she is in ICU. She will be in there probably the whole time because hospital is very full. If you wish to send flowers, please send them to Gothenburg sometime next week. She should be released early next week. Thanks again for all the prayers and support.
Diana is doing great today! She didn't get much sleep last night because they didn't get her moved to her ICU room until 5am, and later today they will be moving her from ICU to a regular room for the duration. She walked down the hall and back this morning (check Facebook for pic). We are so proud of her! Thanks for the prayers! GOD IS GOOD!!!
Diana was awake and sitting up when we visited her at 7 tonight. She looks amazing for just having heart surgery! They will be moving her from recovery to ICU late tonight and she will be there for most of the day tomorrow. We will be back with her in the morning.
btw... this is her daughter, Mer, keeping this journal updated until she can talk to you herself.
Dr.'s nurse just came out to let us know that Diana is in surgery. She has been asleep for awhile now getting all the IVs and tubes put in, ready for surgery. Next update will be about an hour. Please keep praying!
We had a wonderful day at church! What a blessing to be a part of such a loving congregation...Thanks to everyone for the continued thoughts and prayers. I appreciate all the cards and comments from everyone!
Well, I am 10 days away from surgery!! Yesterday Terry and I did a 60 mile round trip antique tractor ride. We had an awesome trip. Do you know what you see driving the highway going an average of 10 miles an hour?? Lots of things! God's creation is spectacular!! I drove a John Deere 820 and Terry drove a Minneapolis R. Got a little too much sunshine because my hat kept blowing off!! Well, we are off to church to absorb from the teacher!! Happy Tractor Trails to all!! Diana
Open Heart surgery is scheduled for June 1st. Your prayers have been much appreciated. Pre-op is May 31 and then I have to be at the hospital at 5am on the 1st.
I will be at Good Samaritan Hospital in Kearney. If you are in the area and want to stop by. We will update you later on the room #. For the day I believe I will be in ICU and then moved to the patient floor.
Meredith will keep this site updated and also Facebook.
I cherish your continued prayers and appreciate your friendship. Diana
