Hello all,
I am wondering if anyone has had this problem - I had OHS for Mitral valve replacement with Maze procedure. 4/24/19. After the surgery I had AFib . My cardiologist did a cardioversion a week later but A-fib returned. I was also put on Metropolol at that time. I am also in a junctional rhythm as opposed to a sinus rhythm. In July he performed another cardiooversion and put me on the beta blocker Flecainide. The Afib has not returned but I am still in a junctional rhythm. Dr says that the heart is still healing and that the Sinus rhythm may return - that we need more time - that with the remodeling of the atrium this could resolve itself. Has anyone had a similar situation where you were in junctional rhythm post surgery and it took a while for the sinus rhythm to return? I am feeling ok in spite of this but really want the normal rhythm to return. I guess I am looking for some reassurance at this time. Thanks so much!
