Had Aortic valve replacement on 11/21/14 - 8 years ago. Recently been diagnosed with a severe leak in Mitral Valve. Will find out 12/21/22 if I am a candidate for Mitral Clip from team of cardio docs. If I am a candidate would probably go this route. The replacement aortic valve has developed a moderate leak. So, get the clip and monitor the aortic valve. If not a candidate for Clip, then suggestion will be to do a major open-heart surgery replacing both valves at same time. I have been told that Dr Chickwe's robotic mitral valve repair is not an option on someone that already has a replacement aortic valve. Any way you can find out if Dr. Chikwe agrees that robotic surgery is a no go for me due to previous aortic replacement?  Otherwise, I am a very healthy 68-year old male staying very active swimming, biking and weight training.
