Hi Everyone, just found this site and joined today. I had mitral valve repair for severe regurgitation on 4-27-22. Shortly after I was released from the hospital I had blood in my urine. June 8th I went to the ER and was immediately admitted and given 3 bags of blood. They kept me for 8 days and ran a few tests and couldn't find where the blood is coming from. I have had blood loss on and off ever since and have never been out of having anemia since surgery. I didn't have blood loss problems before surgery. I've been to a urologist oncologist and had 2 cystoscopies done, nothing found. Was put under and had a scope into my kidneys and urethra, kidneys are at 90% , nothing found. Was examined by a gynecologist who took 2 biopsies in my uterus, nothing found, went to a liver dr and my liver function is rated F1, so good results there. They did find a sm polyp in my gallbladder but the liver dr isn't concerned about it. I saw a hematology oncologist this last Monday and he took all kinds of blood samples. He said the next step is a bone marrow biopsy. Has anyone dealt with blood loss in their urine after surgery? It makes me weak, lightheaded, dizzy, short of breath and has really affected my quality of life. Does anyone have any other ideas of what might be causing the blood loss? It can just start when I'm active or while resting, be bright red, brown, or tea colored. I have to find a solution for this as it's been going on for almost a year now. Any ideas?

Susan Lynn Cindy - I'm so sorry to hear about your complications since surgery. I haven't heard of these issues after OHS. Are you on any medications? There are side effects to many of the common heart drugs. I would imagine they have already looked at them. Please keep us posted.
