I was born in 1966 with Cogenital Heart Disease. When into heart failure at birth, with the doctors not expecting me to live. I beat the odds! I had blood pressure the same as an eighty old man, until 1977 when I had Coarctation of the Aorta surgery at NY Hospital. Being born Dextrocardia Situs Inversus made the surgery quite complicated. Most of my childhood and adulthood was pretty normal, until 1996 when I felt like I was coming out of my skin.
I went into Atrial Fribulation...no drugs would work, so had my first cardioversion. I continued to have cardioversions, due to the Atrial Fribulation...totaling (25) since birth. In September, 2010 I was referred to see Dr. Allan Stewart at Columbia Presbyterian. He told me that I needed my Aortic Root & Valve repaired. September 24, 2010....I had my second heart surgery in my 45 year lifetime. Dr. Stewart is an expert, genius and saved my life before I had an Aortic Aneurysm. Since, 2010 I've been feeling great...until october 2014, when I went back into Atrial Fribulation for the 26th time. I was cardioverted on January 6th, 2015....feeling great and working out and keeping my body as fit as possible.
