I am 7 months past my (2nd!) open heart surgery for aortic valve replacement.-- having increased migraine auras again! Anyone else getting this? It's happened both times post surgery and I feel this increase has a lot to do with heart/lung machine etc...

Gerald Poulton I am 3 weeks tomrrow from my first OHS, I have had migranes for years complete with the dreaded auras, I am pleaded to say that they do not seem to have increased, maybe even the opposite. But then again with my migranes, next month could be a different issue. All the best.

Catie B Barbara, I'm sorry you are suffering. The migraines I experienced most of my life stopped at menopause for six years. But they returned with a vengeance (longer and stronger visual symptoms) after heart surgery. I'm still getting them.

Marie Myers I am 5 months past AVR and just now have seen a big decrease in the number of auras I have been having. Hope they start decreasing for you also! I had dozens of them each day in the early weeks past surgery. Annoying!!

Lilly Black Feel free to read my journal "Sharing my experience Re: Migraines w/ Aura to help others". My migraines have decreased significantly after 2nd OHS.....my last big event was in June 2017 when I experienced a partial seizure. Very strange feeling. But I was fine the following day and hadn't had one since. I get these strange brain activities that my doctor says are migraine related. Nonetheless, migraines are far and few between since my second OHS. Good luck!
