Hello, Thank you for all of your comments. Everyone is very welcoming on here.
As far as the pain goes, it is still here unfortunately. I have noticed sleeping in a recliner does help. I will be calling the Dr first thing tomorrow to let them know. They done an x-ray on Friday and it appeared to be fine but I will be following up just incase.
I have been out of the hospital now for a full week today. This week has seemed rather long, but at the same time the surgery and recovery seem to have been going by quickly. Everything seems to be ok except for the agonizing lung pain that comes and goes, mainly at night when I’m trying to get some sleep. I must say I have been taking it extremely easy, having not left the house but two times. I have done some VERY light walking however. My room is upstairs and I do have to climb that a few times a day. The first few days less than others, today I’m sure I’ve done it about 10 times. I do have to sit and rest for about 2 minutes normally once I get up there. (sometimes)
So this next week I plan on doing some cooking and walking. It’s hard not to go stir crazy recovering. Prior to the surgery I was very active. Gonna be weird just walking and not busting out in a run. Actually, I’m sure it’s not going to be weird!! I am thankful to be able to walk, and will be happy just starting slow. Plus I am a firm believer on not over doing it. I read Mitch’s journal today and I can agree on the shower part being tiring, but again its getting easier every day. One exceptionally tiring part is washing and drying the hair. This is probably just because I have long thick hair.
One thing I wanna take from this site is that the users on here are very educated about their defect, and the heart in general. I commend everyone for that and will be learning the most as I can too.
Sending prayers up for Jimmy Johnson for a successful surgery tomorrow!
Wishing you all the best.

This is my first journal entry. This time last wk I was still in the hospital recovering. I am feeling okay, although there is one pain that is verymuch bothersome and if anyone is familiar with it please comment (if that is possible). The pain feels like it is in my left lung and hurts tremendously, mostly at night and in the morning, however today it is worse than usual. The doctor told me it is inflammation and to take ibuprofen which I have but it is still bothersome, today being the worse. I got choked on some water earlier and felt like I was gonna die. =*( It hurts when I take a deep breath. Its just annoying.
Aside from that, I feel like I am recovering fine. My heart actually feels better and my scaring doesnt look as bad as I thought. I am curious to how much exercise I should be doing though. I went to the doctor yesterday and the hospital campus is huge, anyways I was out of breathe and in pain by the time all of it was over.
Anywhos, glad I found this journal to give me something to do. xo everyone wishing you and yours well!
