Has anyone who had a mechanical aortic valve put in and have existing severe irritable bowel syndrome? I ask because when I have an "attack" the cramping is something like having a baby and my blood pressure spikes to around 200/110. I asked my surgeon if he thought having this was an issue being on Warfarin (this was before I measured my blood pressure) and he said you could have a stroke if you were not on blood thinners. Can't get in to the GI person before surgery so just looking to see if anyone has a similar condition and is on Warfarin and had any issues? Wondering if tissue valve might be a better choice but I am only 56. The surgeon left the choice to me.
