I am new to this group, but had two questions. 1. does anyone recommend a cardiologist in the Denver area. I am trying to fine one that participates with Cigna, that I will like. 2. Does anyone know how moving high altitude affects a bicuspid aortic valve?

Meredith Bray I have found each of my specialists by working with the front desk staff of my primary care provider. I printed a list of doctors provided by my insurance company, and crossed out the offices I knew i didn't want to go to. Then I gave the list to the staff at the "front desk" - the person in charge of referrals, or in charge of getting records from other doctor offices, and sometimes the billing person can help too. And asked, "Which offices are really easy to work with, seem to have it together, and you don't have to wait a month for an appointment?"
This is good information because you don't want a difficult office staff, and you don't want a doctor who is always overbooked.
Good luck! I spent hours agonizing over online reviews and trying to figure out who was affiliated with which hospital. Once I asked for help, I had about 6 or 7 doctors to choose from....and 5 of them were from the same practice.
Good doctors who care about their patients will usually have good staff, and word gets around.
Keep us posted, and ask more questions. Most important, don't give up until you get a doctor you're comfortable with!

It took me 46 years to find a cardiologist I like. I never disliked any of them, just didn't click with them. Often, I think you can tell a lot about a doctor just by calling the office. Those that have caring, helpful staff are likely to be like that as well.
