About Me (In My Own Words)
Hello Everyone,
I'm having my heart valves hopefully repaired on March 6th. I had rhuematic fever when I was a child, so I knew this procedure was inevitable. However I'm still quite nervous about having my chest cracked open. This site has been great at easing my fears and concerns regarding the procedure. I feel confident in my surgeon and cardiologist. Additionally, it's been great to read about how others are doing post surgery.
If my valves can't be repaired then they will be replaced with and Edwards valve. I'm an HR Manager for a medical device company that competes with Edwards for talent. I find it quite ironic that I interview engineers working on the product I may soon have in me. Furthermore we make a product that'll be used on me during the procedure, but my hospital uses a competitors product. Maybe they'll let me bring my own device in. : )
