Bicuspid valve replaced by with St. Jude’s bovine valve. Valve failure spring 2019. Was misdiagnosed and treated as severe bronchitis by both a family practitioner and my cardiologist of record. Neither ordered a chest X-ray. A week after I went into Congestive heart failure as a result of a large central hole in the replacement. I landed in the hospital for 5 days in late July. In early October I had a TAVR with Dr Hummel at Lee Healthpark. After the procedure for 5 months they couldn’t control my blood pressure but through trial and error the pressure by my new cardiologist Dr Baily at SWIFCT the pressure is finally regulated. For me the recuperation after TAVR was not as easy as after the initial open heart surgery. There is some fatigue daily not helped by the meds. I am confident this last procedure will last many years
