About Me (In My Own Words)
Diagnosed in 2012. Have not presented symptoms until recently. This is due to the fact I walk 11,000-14,000 steps daily as Building Engineer at Methodist Mansfield Medical Center. My last echo. Showed regurgitation had progressed. So here I am. Will be glad to finally take care of this so I don’t have to worry about it anymore. Praying that Dr Doolabh will be able to repair it and not have an artificial valve put in. He said he’s very confident he can repair but he just doesn’t know until he gets in there. My surgery will be minimally invasive mitral valve repair. I do have to make the decision on what type a valve I want if he finds out he can’t suture mitral valve. I’ve decided to go with a pigs valve. The mechanical one is just not a good option for me. I don’t wanna have to be on blood thinner the rest of my life. In my line of work I’d end up with bruising all over my body.
