About Me (In My Own Words)
I had mitral valve repair for a severe regurgitation problem. I’m a huge fitness enthusiast and my fitness level was failing so the decision was made to have a valve repair. Surgery went ok but have had severe fitness limitations since then. Had all the tests and have discovered mitral valve stinosis problems. Basically my surgeon has stated that my valve opening is just to small. I get severely fatigued with fitness and can’t do half what I was able to do before surgery. My surgeon want to redo the surgery and put in a mechanical valve and says that it should be a success to get my fitness levels back. My cardiologist thinks getting a mechanic valve would be a huge mistake and that I should just leave things alone. Yes did yo day life I’m ok but with any fitness etc I just run out of air. Can’t breath. Basically can’t flow enough blood threw the valve. I would love some advise or input to what I should do or would like peoples experience on a mechanical valve. Everything I enjoy doing in life demands I high fitness level. That has been taken away from me.
