About Me (In My Own Words)
I was born with a defective aortic valve that I did not know about until I started having symptoms. I would get out of breath and had a pain in my lung area anytime I exerted myself. By the time we discovered the problem by way of an echocardiogram I had to have open heart surgery within the month to replace the valve. Fast forward 11 weeks and I find out my sternum has not healed! I had pain and told my doctor that is when he ordered a CT scan. The pain has since subsided a lot but the sternum is still not healed. Still waiting to hear next steps!
