Has of 2017 I was told I had mitral valve prolapse and was told to come every two years to get a check up and I did in 2019, but when COVID came along I waited until this year 2022 after I got COVID. I got a physical and my doctor was checking my heart and she said that she could hear it louder. So I got tested and my doctor said I have Severe mitral regurtation and that I need surgery. First of all I live here Bolivia, South America and doctors here just do replacement and not repairs and I asked my brother in the United States in the Seattle Area if he can find a place where I can get a Second Opinion and he found UW Medicine Heart Institute. I am really nervious regarding the Surgery because the doctor said that they need to do an open heart surgery and that makes me nervious because it is a major surgery. I haven't had any major syptoms just feeling tired all the time and going up the stairs but I always thought is because I was lazy or overweight.
