About Me

Hi, I am a 40 year old mother of 3 wonderful children and recently (October 2009) married to the most wonderful man in the world. I was diagnosed with MVP 8 years ago when I was having an ablation for tachychardia and arrythmias. It was minor then and they said very common. 2 years ago I started to get short of breath during certain activities, etc... so I went to my dr who sent me to a cardiologist. After testing, I was told I had moderate mitral regurgitation. The risk of surgery outweighed the need they told me. Approx. a year ago my symptoms worsened. I finally went to a valve specialist 2 months ago and was told the regurgitation had rapidly progressed and I was now at the severe level. I met with the surgeon on May 5th and I am now scheduled for mitral repair surgery on June 3rd! You can read more in my journal:) My best and love to everyone! Kimberly
