About Me (In My Own Words)
I am 41 years old, a wife, a mother of three beautiful kiddos!
My story starts when I was three months old my parents take me to my regular check up with my pediatrician who heard a murmur. They went ahead and sent me to children’s to see a Deatrick Cardiologist. After a few test the cardiologist said that I had on my developer lamps that I would possibly grow out of if not I might have issues as I got older. Over the years I occasionally see a cardiologist. after I got married and had children I started seeing a cardiologist yearly just to keep up with my health. Into thousand 16 I went to see my cardiologist and to have my early echo. Everything look the same I was a mild to moderate regurg and they told me just to continue to have my yearly check ups. Now fast forward to 2017 I went in to have my yearly echo and they noticed something had changed. Marie courage had moved from mild to moderate moderate severe. I ended up having a TE procedures just to have a closer look at my heart. Everything looks great except for the obvious mitro-valve prolapse. I continue to check in with my cardiologist every three months. This last appointment in April my Cardiologist decided it was time to send me onto a cardiac surgeon. I had developed a few symptoms and they were starting to bother me. I went to see Dr. Ryan at The Heart Hospital Baylor Plano. After much discussion he suggested that I have valve repair surgery. I am scheduled for surgery on June 11th. To say that I am nervous and scared is an understatement. I am looking forward to reading others stories making making connections that will
help me through the process.
