Hi, I am 41 years old and I am about to have open heart surgery to replace two values. The aortic regurgitation and mitral regurgitation that occurred with my daughter's birth has been slowly leaking extra blood. We have reached a moment where replacements are necessary. On December 30, I will have a mechanical value replacement on my aortic. Dr. Swanson will attempt to repair by mitral valve but I may need a mitral valve replacement. Yes I am scared. But this is just another season. So, I am going to focus on the strength and courage of the people before me.
