About Me (In My Own Words)
In 2004 i contracted endocarditis at the age of 36. It transpired I had a bicuspid valve and the infection had centred on this. I had an artificial heart valve inserted. Ten years down the line I have contracted endocarditis again. The infection is under control but latest ECGs also show a leak in the artificial valve and a dilated aorta (over 5cm).
So, I'm looking at further surgery.
