About Me (In My Own Words)
Hi! My name is Dianna! When I was younger I was diagnosed with a heart murmur but every doctor since has always wrote it off as not being a problem or anything to explore. At age 37 (Father’s Day 2020) I had a stroke, when I had COVID-19. Having two more episodes (October 2020, May 31, 2021) that presents as a stroke, they did an echocardiogram in the hospital after giving me TPA to stop to the stroke. The echocardiogram showed that I had moderate calcification on my aortic valve. Also when I am laying down my heart rate stays in the 40’s and when I am sitting up all kinds of alarms go off on the heart machine. I have a cardiologist appointment on June 30 to see what the next steps are. I now notice I am out of breath a lot, my heart starts racing from walking and my chest burning after light activity. My doctor believes this is most likely the cause of my strokes and hoping so since it might explain why this is all happening.
If anyone would like to tell me their steps to surgery (I know everyone is different), but maybe all the tests that you went through before surgery was put on the table. I am very interested as I am a mom of three and getting married in March 2022. Also everyone tells me I am super young to be experiencing strokes and calcium on my aortic valve. Thank you for reading my story.
