About Me (In My Own Words)
My mitral valve regurgitation is now severe, and I have symptoms. My cardiologist here in AZ has referred me to Dr. Adams. We will be leaving for NYC on Tuesday next week and my surgery is Friday of next week. I am anxious and have a lot of mixed emotions. Reading Adam's book has been very helpful for knowledge and understanding of what to expect. I'm comforted knowing I will be having my procedure done at Mt. Sinai by Dr. Adams. It's very helpful to have friends who are offering their support and family who can be there with me. I'm expecting a new challenge in my life with recovery and hoping I'll be a good patient! :)) Mitral Valve repair will be my treatment and the maze procedure to decrease my AFIB. Sometimes I wake up at night and can't believe this is happening to me, but then I realize it's all good and will improve my quality of life forward. To anyone who reads this and is a heart valve surgery patient too, my best wishes go to you for a speedy recovery and know you're not alone. :)) Peace and love. Deborah
